Class Descriptions

Tiny Movers (Ages 3-4)

   Tiny Movers is a gentle introduction to movement for our youngest dancers. This class focuses on basic motor skills, rhythm, and creative movement through music, games, and guided activities. Dancers will explore balance, coordination, and spatial awareness while learning how to follow directions and participate in a group setting. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, independence, and comfort in the classroom in a safe, nurturing, and fun environment.

Mini Acro (Ages 3-6)

   This introductory acrobatics class is designed specifically for young dancers to safely explore movement on the floor and in basic balance positions. Students will learn foundational skills such as forward rolls, log rolls, beginner balances, and simple flexibility exercises. Emphasis is placed on coordination, listening skills, and body awareness, helping dancers understand how to move safely and confidently. Classes incorporate fun, structured activities that build strength and flexibility while encouraging independence and positive classroom behavior.

Mini Tap & Ballet (Ages 3-6)
  This combination class introduces young dancers to the structure of a dance class while blending the grace of ballet with the rhythm of tap. In the ballet portion, students learn basic positions, posture, and simple movement patterns that develop balance and coordination. In tap, dancers explore introductory rhythms, timing, and foot articulation. The class focuses on musicality, motor skill development, and following directions, all within a supportive and engaging environment that builds confidence and a love for dance.

Mini Hip Hop (Ages 3-6)
  Mini Hip Hop is a fun, high-energy class that introduces young dancers to rhythm, movement, and self-expression through age-appropriate hip hop styles. Dancers will learn basic grooves, simple choreography, and coordination exercises designed to improve timing and body control. The class emphasizes creativity, confidence, and safe movement patterns while encouraging dancers to develop their own style in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.


Ballet 1
  Ballet 1 is a foundational class that introduces dancers to the essential principles of classical ballet. Students will learn proper posture, alignment, and basic positions of the feet and arms. Classes include simple barre exercises, center work, and across-the-floor progressions designed to build strength, flexibility, and coordination. Emphasis is placed on correct technique and safe movement habits, helping dancers develop a strong technical base while fostering discipline and focus.

Ballet 2
  Ballet 2 builds upon the skills learned in Ballet 1 with a greater focus on precision, control, and fluidity. Dancers will work on more complex barre combinations, center work, and traveling steps, while continuing to improve strength, flexibility, and balance. Attention is given to proper alignment and injury prevention, ensuring dancers execute movements safely as they progress. Artistic expression and musicality are also introduced at a deeper level, encouraging dancers to move with both technique and intention.

Pre-Pointe
  Pre-Pointe is a specialized class designed to prepare dancers for the transition to pointe work. This class focuses on strengthening the feet, ankles, legs, and core through targeted exercises and technique training. Dancers will work on proper alignment, balance, and control, which are essential for safe pointe work. Emphasis is placed on injury prevention and readiness, ensuring each dancer develops the strength and technique required before advancing to pointe shoes.

Pointe

   Pointe class is designed for advanced ballet dancers who have demonstrated the strength, technique, and maturity required for pointe work. Dancers will focus on proper placement, alignment, and control while working at the barre and progressing to center exercises. Emphasis is placed on ankle strength, core stability, and correct weight distribution to ensure safe execution. Instructor approval is required, and all training prioritizes injury prevention and proper progression.


Tap 1

   Tap 1 introduces dancers to the fundamentals of rhythm tap. Students will learn basic footwork, timing, and coordination while developing an understanding of musical patterns and sound clarity. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, balance, and controlled movements to ensure safe execution. This class builds a strong rhythmic foundation in a fun and supportive environment.

Tap 2

   Tap 2 builds on the skills learned in Tap 1 with more complex rhythms, faster footwork, and intricate combinations. Dancers will focus on clarity of sound, musicality, and precision while increasing speed and coordination. The class emphasizes control, balance, and proper technique to ensure safe progression as dancers develop their performance quality.


Jazz 1

   Jazz 1 introduces dancers to the fundamentals of jazz technique in a structured and energetic environment. Students will learn basic turns, jumps, kicks, and stylized movements while developing coordination, flexibility, and strength. Classes focus on rhythm, musicality, and clean execution of movements, with an emphasis on proper warm-up and safe stretching techniques to prevent injury. Dancers will also begin to explore performance quality and expression through simple choreography.

Jazz 2
  Jazz 2 is designed for dancers ready to take their technique to the next level. This class includes more advanced turns, leaps, and intricate combinations that challenge coordination and control. Dancers will work on increasing flexibility, strength, and endurance while refining technique and precision. Greater emphasis is placed on performance quality, style, and musical interpretation, all while maintaining safe practices and proper body alignment.


Acro 1
  Acro 1 focuses on building a strong foundation in acrobatic technique with an emphasis on safety and proper progressions. Dancers will learn skills such as cartwheels, bridges, balances, and beginner limbering exercises. The class incorporates strength training and flexibility work to support safe skill development. Proper technique and body alignment are consistently reinforced to ensure dancers build confidence and control as they progress.

Acro 2
  Acro 2 is for dancers who have mastered foundational skills and are ready to advance to more complex movements. Students will work on skills such as walkovers, handstands, and controlled transitions between movements. The class emphasizes strength, flexibility, and conditioning, ensuring dancers can safely execute more advanced tricks. Attention is given to technique, control, and safe progressions to prevent injury while continuing to build confidence and skill level.


Hip Hop
 This class expands on foundational hip hop skills with more complex choreography and dynamic movement. Dancers will develop coordination, strength, and musicality while learning a variety of styles and techniques. Emphasis is placed on control, precision, and safe execution of movements, particularly in faster-paced combinations. Dancers are encouraged to develop their own style and performance presence in a supportive and high-energy environment.


Lyrical/Contemporary 1
  This class introduces dancers to lyrical and contemporary movement, blending elements of ballet and jazz with expressive storytelling. Students will explore musicality, emotional expression, and fluid movement through simple combinations and beginner floor work. Emphasis is placed on proper technique, control, and safe transitions in and out of the floor, helping dancers build both confidence and artistry.

Lyrical/Contemporary 2
  Lyrical/Contemporary 2 is designed for dancers ready to deepen their technical and artistic abilities. The class includes more complex choreography, advanced floor work, and greater emotional depth in performance. Dancers will focus on fluidity, control, and seamless transitions while continuing to strengthen technique and alignment. Safety and proper execution remain a priority as dancers explore movement quality and personal expression at a higher level.
